Gentle Retreat & Co. was created by Mercedes (she goes by Sylvia), a woman who grew up witnessing the quiet weight that so many women carry, especially the women who rarely receive rest, even in their own homes.

As a child, she would prepare warm baths or gently clean her mother’s room after long shifts, hoping to give her even a moment of peace. Those small acts of care grew into a deeper calling: to create something intentional, soothing, and trans-formative for other women who give so much of themselves.

Today, Sylvia turns everyday spaces into sanctuaries, not through luxury for the sake of looks, but through meaningful ambiance, warmth, and calm. Her work isn’t about cleaning; it’s about care. About creating a soft place to land.
